The cast and crew of The Bear are currently filming Season 3, but it's been revealed that the FX series has already, secretly, been renewed for a Season 4, just not yet officially announced by the network. The episodes of the fourth season will be filmed immediately after those of the third season. FX renewed the Chicago-set series for Season 3 in November 2023 and has not yet officially announced a Season 4 renewal. A spokesperson for the network declined to comment.
The third season of The Bear is expected to arrive in June on Disney+. It is unclear whether the fourth season will also be the last for this acclaimed and award-winning show. Season 3 is poised to build on the momentum of its triumphant awards season, which saw Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach sweep the Primetime Emmys, where creator Christopher Storer also won top prize for best comedy series, as well as for the direction and writing of the first season. White and Edebiri also won Golden Globes and SAG Awards, among other accolades, for the second season.
The series, which also stars Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson, and featured a star-studded lineup of guests including Jon Bernthal, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bob Odenkirk, Will Poulter, John Mulaney, Olivia Colman, Sarah Paulson, Molly Ringwald and Joel McHale. Oliver Platt, Molly Gordon, and Edwin Lee Gibson are other recurring cast members. In season two, Carmy (White) works to transform the family sandwich shop into a fine dining restaurant, while balancing a newly blossoming romance, while the rest of the staff finds deeper meaning in their work.
