Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch is still the one to beat at the U.K. and Ireland box office, holding onto the top spot for a third straight weekend with a cool £3.5 million ($4.7 million), per Comscore. The heartwarming remake, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, has now pulled in £31.1 million ($42 million) in the region, proving it’s a total crowd-pleaser in 2025. Right behind it, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning nabbed second place with £2.3 million ($3.1 million), bringing its three-week haul to £21.5 million ($29 million). Meanwhile, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, kicked things off with a strong £1.4 million ($1.9 million) debut, landing in third.

Lilo & Stitch, which brings the 2002 animated classic about a lovable alien and his Hawaiian family to life, is keeping audiences hooked with its mix of nostalgia and charm. Starring Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, and Zach Galifianakis, the film’s racking up serious cash, nearing $800 million worldwide, with big wins in Mexico ($56.8 million), the U.K. ($42.2 million), and France ($30.4 million). Dropping just 28% in the U.K., it’s clear families and fans are loving this remake, and it’s got a shot at hitting a billion dollars globally.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is still bringing the heat, with Tom Cruise doing what he does best—death-defying stunts that keep fans coming back. The eighth Mission: Impossible flick added another $450 million to its global tally and is already the fourth-biggest in the franchise’s U.K. run, behind Dead Reckoning Part One ($36 million), Fallout ($33 million), and Rogue Nation ($28.7 million). It’s a hit in China too, leading Hollywood films there in 2025 with $47.5 million. Billed as Cruise’s last go as Ethan Hunt, it’s no surprise it’s holding strong with just a 33% drop internationally.

Ballerina, the John Wick spin-off starring Ana de Armas as a vengeance-fueled assassin, made a splashy entrance in third. With £1.4 million ($1.9 million) in its opening weekend, it’s tapping into the Wick universe’s gritty action vibe without Keanu Reeves, and its $51 million global start shows it’s got legs. Not far behind, The Salt Path, with Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, pulled in £1.3 million ($1.8 million) in its second weekend for a £4.3 million ($5.8 million) total. Rounding out the top five, Karate Kid: Legends, starring Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, added £1 million ($1.4 million) to reach £4.1 million ($5.6 million).

The U.K. and Ireland box office is on fire, with May’s £109.1 million ($147.7 million) haul up 50% from last year. Lilo & Stitch’s warm fuzzies, Mission: Impossible’s wild action, and Ballerina’s fierce debut are keeping theaters buzzing. With How to Train Your Dragon, 28 Years Later, and F1 The Movie on the horizon, June’s shaping up to keep the good times rolling.
