Prabhas is proving once again why he’s a force to be reckoned with at the Indian box office. His upcoming romantic horror-comedy The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi and set for release on December 5, 2025, is poised to deliver a massive opening day, with projections locking in at least 50 crore net in India, according to Koimoi. This would mark an unprecedented milestone: Prabhas becoming the only Indian actor to score four consecutive 50 crore+ Day 1 box Office, a feat no other star has achieved.

Fresh off the colossal success of Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas is diving into a new avatar with The Raja Saab, a pan-India film blending romance, horror, and comedy. The film, produced by People Media Factory on a reported budget of 400–450 crore, is already generating massive buzz, especially for its Telugu and Hindi-dubbed versions, which are expected to drive the lion’s share of its opening. With Prabhas’ star power and the film’s high-energy teaser—launched on June 16, 2025, in Hyderabad—fans are hyped for what’s being called a “mass entertainer” with stunning visuals and Thaman S’s electrifying score.

Prabhas’ track record speaks for itself. His previous three films—Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (121 crore), Saaho (88 crore), and Adipurush (89 crore)—all smashed past the 50 crore mark on their opening days, with Salaar adding a whopping 92 crore to the list. The Raja Saab is on track to join this elite club, potentially even challenging Jawan’s 75 crore to claim a spot among India’s top 10 opening days, where South Indian films dominate, per Koimoi. If it hits 76 crore or more, Prabhas could push Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan—the only Bollywood film in the top 10—out of the rankings.

The film’s hefty budget raises the stakes. To secure a “hit” verdict, The Raja Saab would need to gross 800–900 crore domestically, a rare feat achieved only by Baahubali 2, KGF: Chapter 2, and Pushpa 2. Despite Prabhas reportedly taking a pay cut (still earning 22–25% of the budget), the film’s financial target is steep. However, its December release could work in its favor, following the trend of massive December openers like Pushpa 2 (1265.97 crore) and Animal (554 crore). Fans and analysts alike are watching to see if Prabhas can deliver another 500 crore+ grosser, cementing a historic hattrick for Indian cinema.

With a star-studded cast including Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar, and Maruthi’s knack for crowd-pleasing storytelling, The Raja Saab is shaping up to be a box-office juggernaut. Whether it’s the promise of Prabhas’ dual roles or the film’s Harry Potter-esque visuals, this horror-comedy is ready to light up theaters and keep Prabhas’ winning streak alive.
