We suspected that Krypto would play an even bigger role in 'Supergirl' than he already has in 'Superman'. The unruly yet adorable superdog, however, seems destined to be something more: he will, in fact, be the true driving force behind the plot of the film starring Milly Alcock, at least judging by this new trailer.
Previewed by the Supergirl teaser released yesterday, the trailer for Craig Gillespie’s film introduces us to a Kara Zor-El who is far less cheerful and carefree than we might have imagined: she is searching for her place in the world (pardon, in the universe!) and, unlike her cousin Superman (who in fact invites her to return to Earth), she doesn’t seem to have a clear purpose yet, and simply wanders through the galaxies getting drunk and enjoying the company of her inseparable Krypto.
When Kara’s little dog is struck by a mysterious enemy and risks dying within three days, however, she has no choice: she must hunt down the Rogues, who possess the antidote to the poison. Joining Supergirl on her journey to save her lifelong friend will be numerous characters, including Jason Momoa’s Lobo, whom we’ve already seen in photos released in recent days. To find out more, of course, we’ll have to wait until June 25, the day Supergirl hits theaters!
