One Piece: Eiichiro Oda admits there's one thing he can't draw, and it could be devastating for the finale

A lot is going on in the One Piece manga right now. Recent events suggest that Eiichiro Oda might have trouble drawing a certain thing for the grand finale.

In both the anime and the manga we are currently in the last big saga of One Piece, more precisely in the Egghead Arc. In the latest manga chapter, events occur that are reminiscent of a past interview with Akira Toriyama and Eiichiro Oda. Warning: From this point on there will be spoilers about the current manga status of One Piece! So read on at your own risk.

Machines and robots are Eiichiro Oda's weakness

In the discussion with the Dragon Ball creator, Oda stated that he was not good at drawing machines and robots. He cited his lack of knowledge as the reason for this. Because he doesn't really understand machines, he can't draw them perfectly. Sounds surprising, right? To date, Oda has already presented us with one or two machines in which this weakness was not noticed. Here we are thinking, among other things, of the character Franky, who is part of the Straw Hat Pirates. After the time jump, he had upgraded himself so much that he is now more cyborg than human.

Some of Vegapunk's satellites also look more like robots than people. Furthermore, we remind you again of the spoiler warning, there is also the ancient robot that has just come to life on Egghead Island. By the way, not all machines in One Piece necessarily have a scientific background. We look at Eustass Kid's monstrous creations, which are made from scrap metal.

What does that mean for the finale?

The ancient giant robot is a creation of the ancient kingdom that existed 800 years ago. Professor Clover from Ohara first addressed this some time ago in the manga and anime. The kingdom was wiped out in the Empty Century, and since then the Navy has tried to keep its existence secret, using force if necessary. The only thing that can reveal the lost knowledge about history is the Porneglyph that Luffy and Co. are currently looking for.

Vegapunk at least has a theory that the ancient kingdom had highly advanced technology. The ancient giant robot of the last chapter is proof of this. If you want to start the Egghead arc in the anime, you can do so as usual via Crunchyroll or, now (at least since January) via Netflix. So when all the secrets are revealed in the finale, we could be in for a serious dose of technology that even surpasses Egghead Island. We're excited to see how Oda will face this challenge.

What do you think of the latest chapter? Have you already thought about the ancient kingdom yourself?
